Team members will need to use Multi-Factor Authentication on their devices to keep Australia Post data secure. 

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)? 
Because passwords can be easily compromised, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) immediately increases your account security by requiring multiple forms of verification to prove your identity when signing into an application. MFA is more secure than a password on its’ own, as it relies on a secondary (two-factor) level of authentication:

1. Something you know, like your password plus, a PIN.
2. Something you have, like a phone or other device that you carry.
3. Something you are (bio-metrics) like a thumb print or facial recognition. 

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is known to prevent malicious hackers from pretending to be you. If they have obtained your password, the odds are that they don't have your device and therefore will not be able to complete the sign-in process to your account. 

Number Matching 

Microsoft Authenticator will prompt you to enter a number displayed on the sign-in screen when approving an MFA request. 

In addition, additional context is enabled meaning when you are prompted, it will display the application requesting authentication (i.e., Microsoft Teams) further uplifting our security posture.
