StarTrack Enterprise Agreement 2025 (STEA 2025)
29 May 2025
Successful ‘YES’ vote for StarTrack EA2025
We are pleased to confirm that there has been a successful ‘yes’ vote for the StarTrack Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2025 (EA2025).
2,472 team members cast a valid vote (82% of all team members) with 97% of those team members voting YES for the new agreement – a resounding result for the StarTrack business.
This is an exciting milestone that locks in a well-deserved 11 per cent pay rise over three years, 1% additional superannuation in September 2026, as well as improvements in key terms and conditions of employment, providing our StarTrack EA team members with much-needed certainty and security.
What does this mean for me?
EA2025 will come into effect 7 days after the approval has been received by the Fair Work Commission. We will update team members when this comes into effect.
The changes contained in the Agreement will be implemented as soon as possible, including the first wage increase of 4%, backdated to the first full pay period in September 2024.
You can view a copy of the final EA2025 on Our Post.
We are proud to deliver an Agreement that continues to support our people, while ensuring StarTrack can continue to compete in an intensely competitive parcels market.

Previous updates
As you know, we have been negotiating the proposed terms of the StarTrack Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2025 (EA2025) with the TWU since August 2024, and we have now concluded bargaining and will shortly be commencing the vote for EA2025 on Friday 23 May 2025. If approved, the EA2025 will form an updated set of terms and conditions for all StarTrack operational team members across Australia.

Voting Information and Next Steps
You will need to place your vote between Friday 23 May 2025 and Wednesday 28 May 2025 for your vote to be valid.
From 23 May 2025, you’ll have the opportunity to vote on EA2025. The vote will be successful if the majority of team members that vote cast a ‘YES’ vote. If this happens, we will then submit EA2025 to the Fair Work Commission for final approval.
You will be able to vote online or over the phone. You will separately receive a letter or email from CorpVote (an independent company conducting the ballot) with instructions for how to vote.
It’s important that you take the time to review EA2025 and cast your vote so that your voice is heard. A ‘YES’ vote will protect the benefits and entitlements that we know are so important to you for the next three years. It will also lock in wage increases starting with a 4% pay rise backdated to September 2024.
We are pleased to announce that we have agreed to conclude bargaining with the Transport Workers’ Union for a new 2025 enterprise agreement for StarTrack team members.
The proposed agreement includes a 4% per annum wage increase for the first two years and a 3% wage increase and 1% increase to superannuation in the final year. The first pay increase will be backdated to September 2024.
Thank you for your patience since negotiations started in August 2024. Your support has been crucial in reaching this positive outcome.
We would also like to acknowledge everyone who has participated in the bargaining process, including the employee delegates, for their dedication. The efforts of all involved has led to a package deal that offers improvements in the terms and conditions for our team members.
Next steps
We are finalising the proposed agreement and all eligible team members will soon be asked to vote on it. A majority ‘yes’ vote is required to approve the new agreement.
In the lead up to the vote, StarTrack will organise roadshows and communications for team members to provide further details about the proposed agreement and the voting process.
Backpay will be processed as soon as possible after the proposed agreement is approved.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your State Manager or the bargaining team by emailing StarTrackEA2025@startrack.com.au.
Firstly, Happy New Year and thank you for delivering on an incredible Peak period.
Now the year has fully kicked off, I wanted to reach out and provide you an update on the negotiations with the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) for the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2025 (2025 Agreement).
We are happy with the progress of the negotiations. In formulating a package of measures to try and bring bargaining to a close, many of the TWU’s claims have been agreed upon, and fair compromises have been reached on the majority of both sides’ claims.
This includes industry leading job security provisions, better support for team members on personal leave, and a variety of improved terms and conditions. For a full list of what has been settled so far which are subject to reaching final agreement with the TWU on the overall 2025 Agreement, click here.
Only two key issues remain unresolved, the term of the EA and the TWU’s claim to increase superannuation.
Our Offer
Consistent with our Australia Post colleagues, we have offered StarTrack team members a 4% per annum wages increase over the next three years (backdated to September 2024). This is a market-leading offer, placing StarTrack team members ahead of the transport industry on wage increases over two agreements.
We firmly believe that locking in wage increases that will beat forecast inflation is the best way to support our team members over the next three years as people continue to face ongoing cost of living pressures.
Alternative Proposal
Over the last weeks, and in an effort to conclude bargaining, we wrote to the TWU indicating that we were willing to talk through an alternative proposal. Under this option we would still have a 3-year agreement but we could divert some of the remuneration increase into superannuation. As an example, this could see the increase in the third year split between wages (3% increase) and superannuation (1% increase - lifting StarTrack’s minimum contribution to 13% from year three).
Your Feedback
We are at a critical point in bargaining, and our goal is to finalise the term and wages/superannuation claims as soon as possible to deliver your wage increases without further delay.
It is important that you provide your feedback on these two outstanding items so we can conclude bargaining with the TWU and proceed to a vote.
To provide this feedback, or if you have any questions, please speak with your local manager or contact the bargaining team by submitting a query through the People Services Portal and selecting the category “StarTrack EA 2025”.
We are looking forward to working with you all throughout 2025 as we strive to grow the business and continue to provide exceptional services to the customers and communities we serve.
We met with the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) on 19 December in Sydney and continued to negotiate for our new Enterprise Agreement (EA2025).
We have continued to make progress in bargaining as we understand that there are now only two core issues that remain outstanding, which are the term of the EA2025 and the superannuation contribution rate. We believe that this is good progress and is a big step towards making a deal.
Next steps
Having made this progress, we are keen to reach an in-principle agreement with the TWU as soon as possible in the New Year.
We have tabled a wage offer of a guaranteed 4% per annum over a 3-year agreement. We genuinely believe this is the best possible outcome for our people. Please share your thoughts on StarTrack’s offer to help our discussions with your bargaining representatives noting our goal continues to be ensuring that we deliver fair wage increases to our people without delays.
We will continue to keep you updated throughout the negotiations on our Enterprise Agreement here. If you have any questions, please raise a query through the People Services Portal by selecting the category “StarTrack EA 2025” or speak to your manager.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and all your hard work over what has been one of our busiest peak periods ever. I am grateful for everyone’s commitment and effort over this period.
For those of you taking time off, happy holidays and enjoy your break and for everyone, whether at work or at home, stay safe.
On 27 and 28 November, we met with the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) in Sydney and continued to negotiate a consolidated national StarTrack Enterprise Agreement (EA2025).
We reached compromises and agreements on a variety of claims for both sides including:
- Job security: maintaining site rates for contractors, labour hire and outside hire as well as endeavouring to have an outside hire ratio of 40%, which moves to 35% in year two of the Agreement. This commitment to job security for our people is market leading and shows how much we value our team members.
- Paid personal leave: increasing paid personal leave from 2 to 3 single day absences without a medical certificate and introducing a trial for pharmacy certificates for additional single day absences.
- Health and safety: offering HSRs, delegates, and facility managers 2 paid days to attend the ‘Steering Healthy Minds’ workplace mental health training, as well as more safety training for employees to renew expired Bluecards.
We believe that this is significant progress and is a big step towards making a deal.
Next steps
Having made this progress we are keen to maintain the momentum and reach in principle agreement with the union on outstanding matters as soon as possible.
This includes our wage offer of a 4% per year increase for three years with the first increase backdated to September 2024.
Please share your thoughts on this offer to help our discussions with your bargaining representatives. Our goal continues to be ensuring that we deliver fair wage increases to our people without delays. This is your opportunity to have your voices heard.

Last week, we presented our wages offer to the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU). Our offer is a wage increase of 4% per year over a 3-year agreement.
If accepted, and an agreement is reached, this pay increase will be backdated to September 2024.
This top-of-the-market offer will drive well-deserved wage growth in recognition of the work you do to continue to deliver for our customers and the community every day.
While we respect that the TWU are seeking a 2-year agreement, the feedback from our team members is that you want the certainty and security of locked-in pay increases that are set to beat forecast inflation over the 3-year term. Our wage offer delivers this.
We are still in negotiations with the TWU, but your feedback and support is critical as we head into the final stages of bargaining.
Our goal continues to be completing bargaining as quickly as possible to give you certainty and security in your pay and conditions without delays.

On 17 and 18 October 2024, we had a productive third meeting with the TWU in Sydney, to continue bargaining to replace the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2021 and the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement NSW/ACT 2021 with one national agreement.
During the meeting we:
- tabled and discussed a working draft of the new consolidated national EA that was developed following multiple meetings about the draft with the TWU. Our goal is to create a sustainable, clear and fair agreement with harmonised terms and conditions that are easy for employees to understand.
- provided and received further information to assist bargaining in relation to, mental health training, the process for workers’ compensation and measures to increase the representation of women in our workplaces.
- provided responses to some of TWU’s claims.
Whilst discussions were robust, we left the room acknowledging a desire to ensure StarTrack can be strong and competitive and continue to provide secure jobs to you into the future.
Where we have reached agreement on claims, and where we do so in the future, this will be incorporated into the working draft of the new national EA.
Next steps
Our next meeting is on 7 and 8 November 2024 in Sydney. In this meeting, we intend to respond to the remaining Union claims. Consistent with our goal of ensuring that bargaining is completed as efficiently as possible and delivering fair wage increases to our people without delays, this will include presenting our wage increase offer.

In August we commenced bargaining with the TWU to replace the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2021 and the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement NSW/ACT 2021 with one national agreement.
On 17 and 18 September 2024, we had a productive second meeting with the TWU in Tullamarine, where they shared their formal log of claims.
Now that we have received the TWU’s full log of claims, we’ll consider each item and provide responses in due course. We will continue to provide updates regularly.
Negotiating our new Enterprise Agreement will be a complicated exercise, but we are committed to working through this and undertaking bargaining as quickly as possible so that we can deliver wage increases to our people without delay.

On 27 and 28 August 2024, we commenced negotiations with the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) for a new consolidated, national StarTrack Enterprise Agreement (StarTrack EA 2024) to replace the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2021 and the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement NSW/ACT 2021.
Our goal for this round of bargaining is to create a sustainable and fair StarTrack EA 2024, with terms and conditions that are simple, relevant, easy to read and understand, and wherever practical, are consistent across our operations. We are undertaking the complex task of merging the current operational enterprise agreements but remain focused on ensuring that bargaining is completed as quickly and efficiently as possible, so that we can deliver fair wage increases to our people without delays.
We are yet to receive the TWU’s formal log of claims, but they have provided us with an overview of the matters they will be seeking to discuss. We look forward to receiving the full details of the TWU’s claims at our next meeting in three weeks’ time, which we will then review, consider and respond to.
As negotiations progress, we will keep you updated via email communications and updates on this page.

The StarTrack Enterprise Agreements (EA) set out the terms and conditions for award level team members at StarTrack. The current EAs, the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2021 and the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement NSW/ACT 2021, nominally expire in November 2024.
We are pleased that bargaining to negotiate the StarTrack – Transport Workers’ Union Enterprise Agreement 2024 (EA2024) with you and your nominated bargaining representatives will commence in the coming weeks. This time around, the Company and the TWU have agreed that we will try and merge these agreements together and that these agreements will be replaced by EA2024.
EA2024 will play a significant role in shaping the future of our business and workforce. Our goal as we enter bargaining is to ensure it fits both our future purpose and goals and provides long-term sustainable benefits for our people, our customers and the communities we serve.
