A work-related injury or illness needs to be investigated so we can determine whether you're eligible for workers' compensation.
Workers' Compensation determines and manages all claims (injuries/illnesses) and provides assistance and support to injured employees and their families.
If you are injured while working or become ill due to your work with Australia Post Group, you have the right to claim compensation. Australia Post and StarTrack holds a self-insurance licensee under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act), and manages its own claims. For other subsidiaries, your claim will be managed under the relevant state-based workers’ compensation scheme, so talk to your manager regarding the process for making a claim. If you’re working for a contractor, talk to the contractor about the process of lodging a claim.
Before lodging a workers’ compensation claim, you must report the incident to your manager as soon as possible. A safety event must be submitted in our mySafety & Injury Management system.
If you are an employee, you can make a claim by completing the online claim form in our mySafety & Injury Management system, and providing any supporting documents, such as a medical certificate, as evidence. For more information about lodging a claim, please visit our Intranet site (Isaac) – Safety and Injury Management.
If you require a non-digital claim form, or if you have any queries, please contact your manager or contact the Injury Management team on 1300 783 066.
Injury Management information is handled in accordance with the Australia Post Group Workforce Privacy Statement, which outlines how to access and/or correct your personal information or to make a privacy related complaint. We will only collect the personal information we require to assess and manage your compensation claim and any associated rehabilitation and to comply with our regulatory requirements under the SRC Act.
We welcome your feedback about the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation process, so that we can find out what is working and make improvements where needed. The Injury Management feedback and complaints process document explains explains how to provide feedback or submit a complaint.
A requirement of Australia Post, StarTrack Express and StarTrack Retail SRC self-insurance licence is to inform employees of the claims management system audit results. You can view the 2023/2024 & 2024/2025 Annual Analysis Report here.
