Incident reporting and investigation

When you join Australia Post, your training includes how to report incidents and the importance of reporting. 

Contractors must supervise their workers to ensure they are working safely and get the information and training they need to report incidents. 

What do I do if I’m involved in a safety incident or near miss?

• Report incidents including near misses, as soon as practical to your manager
• If required, take part in the investigation which may follow, providing accurate, detailed information
• Complete your part of the incident report form. Your manager will talk to you about this and can help fill it in if you’re not able to
• Make information about the incident is included in mySafety & Injury Mangement, or if you don’t have access to OneSafe, in the Safety Event Report form (your manager will talk to you about this and can help fill it in if you’re not able to)
  

Anyone involved in the incident who needs support or counselling will be offered trauma support, via the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or in the case of a contractor or licensee the Workforce Assistance Program. You can also email EAP or phone on 1300 687 327.
