Today, we provide services to more Australians than any other company, serving millions of customers online and in our Post Offices every year. We have Australia’s most extensive physical retail network, with more than 4,000 Post Offices and around 15,000 street posting boxes spread across the country.
We’re striving for a more prosperous Australia and a better world for generations to come.
So we’re constantly re-imagining our business to give every Australian unrivalled access to world-class services so they can make the most of their opportunities and realise their potential.
Our diverse workforce, strong domestic position and our status as a Government-owned business that is highly trusted in Asia, puts us in a prime position internationally to grow outbound deliveries.
We offer a wide range of products and services, and partner with other companies to deliver more for our customers. Find out more from the links below.
We are a government business enterprise
Australia Post is a Government Business Enterprise (GBE) operating under the Australian Postal Corporation Act 1989 (Cth) (the APC Act).
We are completely self funded and make the best use of our assets and resources for two clear purposes which are detailed in the APC Act:
- To earn a profit (used to pay dividends to the Commonwealth, and for reinvestment in the business)
- To deliver a community service.
As required under the APC Act, we continue to balance our commercial objectives with delivering our community service obligations.
Annual Reports
We prepare an Annual Report which is tabled in Federal Parliament every October, providing a summary of our financial, social and environmental activities for the year.
