Today represents another important milestone in Australia Post’s Modernisation journey. We welcome the release of the Postal Services Modernisation submissions and the acknowledgement that change is needed to support a high quality and sustainable postal service.
I want to share that Rodney Boys, our Chief Financial Officer, has advised that he will be stepping down as Group Chief Financial Officer at the end of the calendar year. Rodney and I have been discussing his desire capacity to have more capacity for personal pursuits and family for some time.
I’m pleased to share the results of the recent Our AP Way Say culture and engagement survey. By having your say, you’re helping us better understand what we are doing well and where we can do better to support each other.
Over the last few months, we’ve been working to simplify our business and operating support structures. While I appreciate this has caused disruption for the business and impacted our people, it’s an important step in setting Australia Post up for the future.
Over the coming days, our senior leaders (those who report directly to an EGM) will confirm their own leadership team structures. This is the next step in streamlining our model, so we can put ourselves in the best position to deliver our Post26 strategy.
We've announced our financial results for the first half of FY23. While there is a lot for us to be proud of in how we’ve delivered for our customers and communities, the results underline the seriousness of the challenges facing our business.
Welcome to 2023. I hope you got some time to recharge over the holiday period, and for those that worked through to continue to serve our customers – thank you.
As we head into Christmas, the Leadership Team and I have reflected on what we’re most proud of in 2022 – and there’s a lot of options to choose from. Thank you for everything you do for our customers, our communities and each other.
We’re now into December, and on the home stretch for Peak. I visited our South Melbourne Market Street Post Office to catch up with Debbie Stradling, who had an incredible story to share that really captures the important role we play in our communities. Hear Debbie's story.
Building on Mental Health Month in October, I’m joined by our Chief Mental Health Officer, Simon Brown-Greaves. It was great to speak to Simon about his reflections on his first few months with Australia Post as well as some useful tips about managing our physical and mental health.
As we get ready for our busiest period of the year, we’re all focused on delivering for our customers and community. Like many businesses, we continue to manage the impacts of extreme weather events as we’re currently experiencing, labour shortages and global supply chain pressures.
This month I’m coming to you from our new Perth parcel facility, which is one of a number of new facilities we’ve added since last Christmas. This will be my second Peak, having now been with Australia Post for a year.
I am pleased to share with you our annual results for financial year 2021/22.
I wanted to introduce to you Our AP Way – the culture we need at Australia Post to deliver on our new strategy, where all team members will be involved.
