EBA 2021 negotiations have commenced
16 April 2021
Discussions have commenced between the TWU and delegates and StarTrack to bargain for a new Enterprise Agreement for StarTrack operational employees on the National agreement.
The enterprise shared business and financial updates and priorities, and outlined the framework that it, as a government-owned business, is required to bargain within, that is the Australian Government Public Sector Workplace Relations Policy 2020.
We heard from the TWU about its claims on behalf of employees. This includes, amongst other things, increases to pay and superannuation, prioritisation of full-time employment, merging the NSW and National Agreements, increased regulation of outside labour hire, improved dispute resolution, special leave considerations, responses to mental health illness and family and domestic violence, and women’s advocacy.
We are pleased with the honest and respectful manner of the discussions so far and look forward to continuing negotiations in this way.
Next steps
Half-hour joint report back sessions with the TWU will be held shortly at local facilities. Your manager will advise of local arrangements.
We will spend the next few weeks comprehensively considering the claims before we reconvene with the TWU in a few weeks. Negotiations will now continue on a regular basis as we work towards a new agreement. We know you value certainty in your pay and conditions, so look forward to productive talks that secure the fastest possible resolution.
Our aim is to design an agreement that gives our people employment security and fair wage increases while enabling our business to continue to meet the changing needs of our customers and communities in a competitive industry.
Coming to a new agreement
Negotiation is undertaken between your bargaining representatives and StarTrack. Bargaining ends when an agreement is voted on and approved by the majority of employees who vote. Current entitlements for employees covered by the 2017 agreement will continue until a new agreement is in place.
This update is for StarTrack operational staff covered under the StarTrack National Enterprise Agreement. It does not apply to employees on the StarTrack NSW/ACT or StarTrack Clerical agreements, which will be negotiated separately.
Questions and feedback
As we work through our negotiations, we’ll listen and respond to you. If you have any questions or feedback along the way please ask your manager or you can email the EBA team direct at nationaleba2021@startrack.com.au.
